The Sankey on the right displays multiple categories, adding a middle step to visualize the flow from a country of origin, to a continent, to a country of asylum.

Refugee Flow

• Country of Origin: Venezuela, Afghanistan, Syria, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, DR Congo and Iraq.
• The highest number of refugees between January till August 2021 flew from Venezuela to Peru, with more than 50 thousand people seeking asylum.
• The US, France and Germany accepted the highest number of refugees – with the US accepting more than 100 thousand people from other origin countries; almost 40 thousand from Guatemala and about 30 thousand from Venezuela.
• The UK accepted only 40 thousand refugees – more than 3 times less than the refugees seeking asylum in France.
